Because everyone in all of Ukraine starts school September 1, it's a huge celebration. While walking to the Pozniaky, every flower shop was crowded with kids all dressed up for school, buying flowers for their teachers. Even I got some! The building behind me is an apartment building, but our school is on the bottom level.
Last night, I ate dinner with Misha and Anna for the first time. I was in shock. Then, since it was the first day of school, we had tea and this apple cake afterwards and these chocolates which were really awkward. They had a spongy, moist inside. Not normal, at all. It confused my taste buds.
